![]() Mirage Tempo can be pretty good if preparing for a powerful attack, but in most cases it is better to just swap into a stronger character and hit for some heavy damage instead. Nami has the lowest attack and defense stats of any playable character in the game, which makes sense as she has many support abilities. Who is your favorite character in One Piece Odyssey? #8 - "Cat Burglar" NamiĪnother Speed type character near the bottom of the list, that's peculiar. While not bad, I didn't find myself using Usopp nearly as much as the other characters, especially after I got Franky in my party. Because of this, he gets behind in levels, and simply misses out on a large chunk of the game. But the nail in the coffin is how you lose him for almost the entirety of Chapter 4, which is in the top two longest chapters in the game. In addition to these, for the majority of the game, the Technique type isn't as common for enemies to have than the Power and Speed types. He gets no all-hitting abilities, and his ultimate skill, Green Star: Skull-Blast Grass, isn't all that much better than his other group-hitting abilities. But later on in the game, he just becomes less and less useful. Also, his Usopp Pound and Golden Pound abilities can be pretty powerful against sailors, bandits, and pirates, especially at Enies Lobby when Usopp's alone with the useless Scrapper Franky. His Exploding Star ability (the multi-hit one, not the single-hit one, I'm not sure why there's two) was quite powerful for killing early-game enemies. This can be pretty useful for the first sections of the game, but by the time you learn how to use Bond Move, the relevance of this capability is depleted heavily. Usopp's main ability that sets him apart from other characters is that he can attack enemies in other areas with his regular attacks even when his area isn't empty. ![]() But anyway, enough schadoodlambling, let's dive into One Piece Odyssey: All Characters RANKED! #9 - "God" UsoppĪt the beginning of the game, during Chapter 2 especially, I thought Usopp was going to be one of if not the best character in the game. The game is also very easy, so you can play with whatever characters fit your fancy, even if they aren't the best. Keep in mind that none of the characters in this game are bad, but some are definitely better than others. This game has some great characters, each with awesome abilities and differences (a lot of the abilities are just worse than others at doing the same thing, but there are still plenty of useful ones). It may perhaps be the longest JRPG that I have beaten to this point. And as for these, they are very well animated, but you have to make sure that the opponents don't have any strengths or statuses that reduce the damage.I just finished playing through One Piece Odyssey, and it took me a very long time to beat. There is a base attack that serves to recharge the TP points that we can then spend on the next turn to perform skills. I was able to try three different moments of the adventure (with characters at level 1, level 16 and level 40) and the combat became enriched at an exponential rate as the hours of the game went by. It's perhaps the weakest point of the game I've seen, as the rest of the limitations seem to be ironed out as part of the story progression in which we're reminded of the gang's previous adventures, such as the well-known Arabasta and Water 7 sagas. ![]() Sure, these walks are also where the dialogue between characters takes place, but when you're walking through a cave and jumping between obstacles it's pretty hopeless to wait for the same animation of climbing or bending down to pick up the countless objects and ingredients that appear shining on the ground like points of light. While the views are beautiful, and there are plenty of nooks and crannies to visit, the movement of the main character feels a little slow and clunky.
